Hello Wonderful Assistants!
We are nearing the final stretch in preparations for our magical weekend together. This note will give you many, if not all, of the physical details you will need to make your journey with us nurturing and comfortable.
The Land at Kindred Spirits is beautiful and sacred. We are excited about having Heart of Now at this amazing venue. As we enter her sanctuary with reverence, it will deepen our stay there.
If you cannot assist as scheduled, let us know right away as we plan the team with everyone's needs in mind. You are important!
Schedule: Please plan to arrive by 12:45 Friday, February 17th unless you have made other arrangements. We will be finished about 9 or 9:30 on Friday.
On Saturday assistants will start at 8:30 and we will close formally around 7:30. You may stay for dinner or overnight. Folks often hang out fairly late on Saturday night, sometime playing games or music. Sunday we will start at again 8:30 am and students will be done around 6:30 and we will complete hopefully by 8:00. We really need all assistants to stay through the end of the weekend
Sleeping arrangements and other details:
Students will be taking most or all of the bedrooms, so we will be staying dorm style on the comfy couches and fold out beds in the course room. Please bring bedding and ear plugs! You also may want to bring comfy slippers to wear indoors.
Please also bring a water bottle as we can't have open containers in the courseroom. We will feed you all weekend, but we don't have Friday lunch so please eat before you come.
Assistant fee: we are expecting $40 - $100 for assisting this time. We are expecting $40 on Friday (if you want to donate more, we will gladly take your debit card info so you can make payments over time), please bring your method of payment to the courseroom on Friday.
Directions:
Kindred Spirits is 15 to 25 minutes from Eugene, depending on where you start. Please do not ask neighbors the location of Kindred Spirits; if you get turned around or lost, call Bruce at 503-490-1084. Verizon, T Mobile, AT&T, Sprint cellular mobile phones are all reported to work on site.
Directions from Portland:
From I-5 take Beltline Rd. west. Continue on Beltline Rd. west for about 9 miles until it ends at 11th Ave.. Go left on 11th Ave., travel to second traffic light at Bertlesen.. Go straight for 8.5 miles - you will encounter one stop sign. During this stretch of the road Bertelsen will turn into Bailey Hill Rd, which then turns into Lorane Hwy. About ¼ mile past the 10-mile marker (little green signs on right side of the road) look for a red garage with 2 white doors on the right side of the road, turn right onto Sutherlin Ln just in front of this garage. Go 1/2 mile on Sutherlin Ln., at that point the main road curves to the right and becomes Buckhorn Ln, go straight to stay on Sutherlin Ln (it becomes one lane here), There is a small no trespassing sign and a Nature Sanctuary sign at that intersection,. About a 1/10 mile up the road, the third or fourth house on you right, you will see two big wooden gates, and a sign with the address 28465, this is Kindred Spirits. Drive on in, If you come after 6;30 there will be some one to help you park. If you get lost call us at 541-852-6352 or Bruce the caretaker of Kindred Spirits at 503-680-1084.
Directions from 28th and Chambers in Eugene:
Traveling South on Chambers from 28th and Chambers, go about .5 miles (that's 1/2 mile) and turn Right on Lorane Hwy. go about 4 miles, and at the stop sign turn Left, staying on Lorane Hwy (There will be signs for Eugene, Crow and Lorane at that intersection). Continue on Lorane Hwy for about 5 more miles and About ¼ mile past the 10-mile marker (little green signs on right side of the road) look for a red garage with 2 white doors on the right side of the road, turn right onto Sutherlin Ln just in front of this garage.
